The Maremma Nature Park was the first regional park established and recognized by the European Community. With a complete balance between unspoilt nature and respectful human intervention, the park covers 10,000 hectares, including all the ecosystems of the area; from pine forests to the sea, from the steep coastline to the beach, from wild to farm. The park is home to all the local species of wildlife such as wild boar and deer, but also domesticated animals such as horses and cattle, which are very important to this region.
